Travelling around Tunisia

In August this year I had the most incredible experience of travelling to Tunisia with my family and I was so amazed at the beauty of the country that I wanted to share my photographs with my blog readers.

I love to travel so when my family decided on Tunisia as a destination for our summer holiday, I was so excited to go somewhere that I hadn't experienced before. We stayed in Sousse and travelled to many places over the course of the two weeks.

My favourite thing that we did during the holiday was a Camel Ride over the Sahara Desert during the late afternoon. It was so peaceful being in the middle of the desert, not being able to see anyone or anything.

It was a great experience being on the camels and definitely a lot more comfortable than I imagined!

The next part of our adventure was to visit the Medina in Sousse. This is a market full of different foods, spices, lanterns and carpets which you can buy and barter for with the locals. It was so interesting to see the different culture and all the gifts and foods that they had to offer.

Inside the Medina, it was very busy and closely packed together, there were so many things to look at. 

Oasis.

This is an Oasis in the middle of the desert where the locals take care of the palm trees and grow dates from them. They showed us how they climbed the palm trees with their bare feet!

This is a large canyon by the Salt Lakes in the Sahara desert and is where some of the scenes in the Star Wars movies were filmed. This was taken at about 8:30am and it was already soo hot!

It was a brilliant two week holiday over all, and I throughly enjoyed it. I saw so many new things and tried new things out too. This photograph was taken just before getting on the coach transfer to the airport on the day we left. It feels like ages ago now but looking back through my photographs, it just shows how beautiful the country really is and I would recommend it to everyone to go and explore there with their camera!

  I have the most amazingly talented friend who I have known all through secondary school who also attends my college. She studies media make up so collaborating together makes perfect sense! I have worked with her so many times now and we are a great team, so we decided that over the Summer we would organise lots of shoots!

Unfortunately, our part time jobs and holidays got in the way so we weren't able to do our first shoot until the start of September!! But it was 100% worth the wait.

                        

 After many late night Whatsapp messages and us both pinning photos on to our shared Pinterest board for inspiration, we organised our Swimming Pool Shoot.

                        

It was an amazing sunny evening and we had the open air pool to ourselves after it had closed so it was absolutely perfect. I am so happy with the images and I can't wait to work with Emily (make up artist) and Emma (model) again very very soon!

The Girl Behind The Lens

My name is Dannielle and I am a nineteen year old student in England, currently studying the second year to my Higher National Diploma (HND) in Photography. I have been studying photography for four years now since leaving school and I have loved every minute of it. :-)

My main interests in photography are fashion, location & studio portraiture. I have had experience photographing weddings, social events, pets, fashion and families.

After graduating in May 2015, I hope to leave Swindon College of Art and either do a top up 3rd year BA or to take a gap year and go travelling around the world.
