When in Rome

I had the most amazing week in Rome & managed to tick off everything on my bucket list apart from The Trevi Fountain, which I did visit but unfortunately it was under restoration and covered in scaffolding so I wasn't able to take any photographs of it or make a wish there.

I guess it just means that I'll have to be going back.... :-)

Here are my personal favourites & you can find the rest on my Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.369719349874146.1073741856.232222153623867&type=1

My Travels With My Camera

I think it's fair to say I've been very lucky and visited some stunning places all over the world. Some of which I went to when I was much younger so I didn't get any photographs of. However, I do have some amazing photographs of places I have been over the past three and a half years of studying photography at A level and now my diploma & I wanted to make a little timeline of my adventures.

April 2012 - Gran Canaria

I went to Gran Canaria with my boyfriend's family for two weeks and we had an absolutely brilliant time! Here is a photograph of the gorgeous beach. Even in April it was so hot and just perfect for the kind of chilling holiday we were going for.

October 2012 - Turkey

Turkey with my own family, October was a bit of a risk going to Turkey because the weather wasn't always the best. However, I got some really interesting photographs there. I have been to Turkey a few times and always love it :) - just would advise to go during the Summer due to the bad weather.

June 2013 - Paris

My first trip to Paris (apart from Disneyland but that doesn't technically count) I was soo excited when we decided to go for a short city break because it is a city that is very near the top of my bucket list! Apart from I just have to go back because I have to see everything at least once more :) just because it is soo beautiful!

August 2013 - Ibiza

I didn't take many photographs from this holiday because it was mainly just a relaxing one so there wasn't much to photograph. However we did have a terrace on the roof top of our villa so I did get some impressive sunset shots and one of a little lizard!

February 2014 - Budapest

This February I went on a college trip to Budapest. It was such a different city compared to places where I have been before and I was pleasantly suprised at just how much there was to do & see and how much I enjoyed it. I definitely want to go back there and if you haven't been there yet I would 100% recommend you to!

August 2014 - Tunisia

I have already wrote a blog post with photographs from my holiday to Tunisia this year so here is a link to that particular blog post. It was incredible! My first trip to Africa and I can't wait to see more of this beautiful country.

I absolutely love travelling and all the places that I have been to have been amazing. I can't wait to travel more in the future to learn & see more things.
I hope to go travelling around the world in 2016 after my 21st birthday and lots of saving up!!

However, 2015 still has some amazing places lined up for me :)

Rome - January 12th 2015
New York - February 2015 (fingers crossed !!!)
Florida - October 2015.

So watch this space for more travelling photographs and more about the new places I'm going to visit next year :)

What's in my camera bag ...

I haven't done a shoot this week so far, I have one organised for tomorrow afternoon so new photographs will go up tomorrow evening :)

So instead, I thought I'd write about my kit today, it's something a little interesting, I always like to know about other photographer's camera kit ( or maybe thats just me being nosey. )

Before we start, the quality of the images are 100% perfect because they have been taking on my iPhone 5. I just wanted some visuals to make this post a bit more fun.

I am a Canon girl and my camera is a 5D MK II and I adore it being a full frame sensor. The results are insane!

I have a polka dot blue and white striped camera strap from www.etsy.com

My camera bag is also from Etsy and is navy blue and brown, there are three compartments to it which I really like, makes it easy for each piece of my kit to have a specific place in the bag.

The lens that I use most often at the moment is my EF 50mm prime lens, f 1.4. This is an amazing lens for depth of field and for making each image look soft and slightly dreamy looking. - Something I love for candid shots and also for my fashion images.

The other lens I have is an Sigma Lens, Canon Fit, 24-105mm. This is great because you have a complete range to work with when shooting. You can be zoomed in on somebody but also take a wide angle shot too. ( unfortunately I haven't got a photo of it because my Grandparents have bought it for me for Christmas, bless their hearts <3 )

My flash gun is the Yongnuo speedlite. I bought it from Amazon and it has never let me down. I also bought the diffuser box that goes on top from Amazon.

I bought a camera cleaning kit from Amazon too. This came with a lens spray, a cloth, a brush and a few other things to make sure your camera always stays clean and dust free. - This was really cheap and I would recommend everyone to have it.

That is mostly all of my kit that I use from shoot to shoot, I do have a spare Canon camera and a Sony for a back up. I also have an old film camera that my Grandad gave to me, but I tend to only shoot on digital unless for special projects.

Come back and visit tomorrow evening where my new spooky graveyard photo shoot pics will be up :) Fingers crossed the rain doesn't make us have to cancel!!
