Outtakes

I always love to have fun on all my shoots and with Emily and Emma we always have such a good laugh, I love working with them.

We tried some 'outtake' shots yesterday, just some silly head and shoulder kind of shots and the results look amazing.

Final piece....

Secret Garden

My Aunty is a budding artist & is currently studying art and design. She asked me to photograph her final piece for her 'Sense of Place' project. The idea is a weaving ball made out of willow, ivy and branches all from the garden. There is a scary doll's head, arm and old tea set that is placed in the middle to represent the eerie side to an enchanted, forbidden garden.

Here are the photos, I hope you like the final piece. :)

Interim Evaluation

I set up my blog in September 2014 for my Specialist Practice unit in HND photography. I knew absolutely nothing about blogs before I started this unit and the whole idea absolutely petrified me!!

I thought that I was going to be talking to a big, empty room & no one would be reading my blog or looking at my photographs but after a few weeks, I started to gain twitter and blog followers and page views which was mega exciting!!!!

It is really interesting to look at other photographers work on their blogs & twitter, then comment on photographs that I really like & also get comments on my own work from other people too.
I have found lots of inspiration from other bloggers for various photo shoots, whether it be make up & hair, outfit or location ideas.

Bloglovin is a website where everyone can read their favourite blogs all in one place. It has been such a helpful website to find other bloggers like me and other photographer's blogs too, gain followers and find photographs that I like. I also set up a photography Twitter account so that I could reach other creatives through social media, using hashtags and relevant hashtags means that you gain a wider audience because people will be able to see your tweets when they search for a certain thing. This means that the kind of audience I have been reaching are the kind of people who are interested in similar things to myself such as particular tv shows, photography or something that was newsworthy at the time.
Twitter works the same as a blog, the more people that I have been following, the more followers that I have gained. The more times I tweet & blog, and the more active I am, then the response is bigger. I have really enjoyed being active on Twitter and also my Facebook page, it has benefitted me by more people noticing my photographic services & wanting me to photograph events for them, such as weddings, parties or family photos etc.

My main blog posts have been surrounding my own photography work such as shoots I have done in the past, weddings and my most recent fashion shoots. It is really good to network with people such as models, make up artists and designers. By blogging, you can post links to their websites, Twitters or Facebook pages so that any readers can reach them too if they wanted.
I have also blogged about other creatives such as fashion photographers, youtube vloggers and designers and had a handbag designer tweet about me and my photograph that I took for her, which is such a rewarding feeling for all of my hard work.

My main reason for blogging has been to get my name and photographs out there for the world to see. I think that I still have a long way to go as I only have 76 followers on Bloglovin but I think that seeing as it has only been 6 months then there is still time to gain more of an audience in the future. I will still continue to blog even though the deadline for this project is fast approaching because I think it is a good habit that I have gotten into by blogging at least twice a week. It means I am always being active on Twitter, aswell as blogging, interacting with other creative people and going out & taking new photographs.

I have really enjoyed the project, as I have learnt more about the technical side to putting together a blog & also setting up my own website. - www.danniellehuntphotography.com
This is something that I didn't know how to do before and even though it is a learning progress I am getting there slowly. :-)

Thank you to everyone who has followed me and been reading my blog posts over the last 6 months, be sure to keep posted for many more photo shoots & blog posts to come. There should be plenty more next weekend after my exciting photoshoot for Bunny Pumpkin Boutique tomorrow & then after my travels to New York!

I will be posting soon so watch this space!

Genie In A Bottle

Levitation was our most recent weekly university challenge & this is something I had never attempted before. I looked into lots of research and how it was done and really its quite simple to do in Photoshop once you have the photographs.

I tried out a couple of things but not all of them worked very well & it was quite difficult but eventually I got there & here is my final levitation shot.

I used my brother as a model, he was sat on a stool in the hallway and then I took the stool out in Photoshop so it looks like he is floating like a genie :-)

Please let me know what you think! I'm quite happy as this was my first attempt but I think its a technique that I would like to try out more often on photoshoots.

Designer Handbag Photo Shoot

This past week has been so exciting!! Me & my friend from college were approached by an new & upcoming handbag designer to take some photographs of her products for her website.

I haven't been able to post anything until after showing her the photo's, but I have shown her now & she is so pleased so I am now able to share them with all my lovely bloggers.

We choose to shoot in two locations, studio & at Lydiard House Gardens.

These are the best selections of photographs from the studio shoot. Models are a friend from my college class, Laura & Miss Wiltshire 2014, Nicole.

Laura is a photographer too, check out her blog - http://laurajaynewardphotos.blogspot.co.uk

When in Rome

I had the most amazing week in Rome & managed to tick off everything on my bucket list apart from The Trevi Fountain, which I did visit but unfortunately it was under restoration and covered in scaffolding so I wasn't able to take any photographs of it or make a wish there.

I guess it just means that I'll have to be going back.... :-)

Here are my personal favourites & you can find the rest on my Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.369719349874146.1073741856.232222153623867&type=1
